Pure was born in 2001 in Los Angeles, California when three Argentinean
architects decided to start a cowhide rug company.
We always admired the way architects and interior designers from the beginning
of modernism were using cowhides as rugs, bringing a touch of warmth and
eclecticism to their spaces.
It was always difficult to find the hides; sometimes you could randomly run
into an empty corner lot with hides for sale hanging from a fence with no idea
where they originated, otherwise you could search online and find websites selling
cowhides and also selling everything else under the sun.
So our idea was to start the first cowhide brand, and we call it Pure.
First we needed quality hides so we went back to Argentina and Brazil, countries
with a long-standing tradition of producing the best leathers worldwide.
Then we partnered with the most skilled leather artisan. All Pure rugs are
handmade in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Adding our design aesthetics and
quest for quality, no detail is left behind. From the softest most luxurious
materials, the perfection of stitching, to the harmony of colors and patterns,
we are confident that our leather rugs are superior in quality and style than
any other in the world.
We are proud of our products and strive to keep our prices as competitive
as possible, believing everyone deserves the luxury of something so soft and natural
as a Pure rug.
